I have been threatened with an eviction notice due to hearing problems and excessive sound. Should the landlord involved, instead of threats and seizure of audio equipment, (they, having already made judgment) not do all in it’s power to bring it to an end amicably, for all concerned.

Assuming you’re in the UK,the short answer is it’s almost impossible to get Legal aid now.
The one exception is in cases of alleged medical negligence,but there are strict criteria to qualify.Suggest you consult the local C.A.B for advice.
If you’re in Oz …get onto your local Tenancy Tribunal or Dispute Resolution Service,,,they should be able to help you.
You should also qualify for Legal Aid.
Your question is quite interesting, although not knowing all the facts it would be foolish to comment. Why not take your story to a magazine or a local rag; If they believe your side of the story and it makes good copy they might just finance your solicitors fee, if you really need one.
