I believe lawyers are smart, sly, manipulative, and confident. They should talk like they know what they’re talking about. They should be familiar with the laws and stuff so in a situation that you would think you have the advantage, they turn it around. You’d never see it coming. They can manipulate a situation. They know how to present themselves. They are always professional and respectful. They can be aggressive when they need to be.

    2. lawyers in my opinion must be really good in their reasoning skills. sometimes they should be a good liars too.

    3. Either one of those traits can be part of their characteristics, but most importantly it depends on the lawyer. Just like people’s personalities: they can vary. Depending on how they feel about the law and how the practice is. They can also be all of those things because lawyers are actors a lot of the time. Don’t be fooled by their attitude one day because it can be different the next day…

I use to intern at a Courthouse, which is why I have made these conclusions through observation.

    4. They take your money. Some are good and some just down right suck!

It depends on the case. Really.

A good lawyer is part investigator, part analyst, part psychologist, part actor, part manipulator, part champion, part interrogator.

It depends on the case, all are tactics.

Lawyers, ah the age old debate.. well almost.
Many people expect lawyers to be deceitful – excellent liars. They are thought as those with high confidence or the ability to fake it.
However, regardless of what people expect, lawyers must be excellent at negotiating and debating. Facts will take you 70 percent of the way and negotiation the other 30 percent.

I would think he or she should be honest, and believe in themselves and what they are representing which would be the client. They should be a person who doesn’t take any bull when it comes to what they think is right.

    8. If you’re paying your attorney for services, then he or she should be courteous and friendly, plain and simple. It is a business after all. On the other hand, when it comes to representing someone, a lawyer must be aggressive and fierce all while keeping their cool (you cannot fly off the handle, especially in court). So I guess the answer to your question is that it depends on who the attorney is addressing. Except for narcissism, an attorney has to know how to behave in each manner described in your question.
