Hello how are you all?Good I hope now what I mean by my question I’m facing something thats niggling at me and I have a solution but I don’t know if it’s the right one. These so called people up the road have been giving me none stop problems and you know I’ve got my own problems I’m single and have 3 kids I can’t help sorry. They don’t understand OK.now they’ve kept it up and a while back the second eldest come down and diliberately run over my kids dog right in front of them.I didn’t know what to do because I was in shock and I was trying to keep it together for my kids my mum come over and then she went up there well so did I and I went for the fella and his mother because I deal with things myself I like to deal with things myself well this bitch rung the police and now I’m facing 2 common assault charges one for her and one for her son.My solicitor says it will look like I will end up getting charged something I can’t win them all.I think that is a crock.I’ve thought about going up there and saying I’ll give you 200 you drop the charge, that way don’t have to worry bout going to court on tuesday and don’t have to worry bout paying solicitors and all the wrest what do you think. These people are sabotages, conspirors, manipulators the worst of the lot but they need money and if I give them some or some to an agreement I think they’ll drop the charge what do you think give it a go?.

    1. If you attempt to pay them off, you’ll also be guilty of witness tampering, which is much more serious than assault. A crime, any crime, is against the state (government), not the victim. Just trust me on this. The solicitor can still go to court about your charges even if they don’t testify. S/he may not win, but s/he can still go. You have already been charged. Your lawyer (the solicitor is the person telling the court to punish you for breaking the law; your lawyer is helping you) meant that you are likely to be convicted of something.

If your neighbors are as bad as you say, they’ll take your money and tell the solicitor, so you’ll be $200 poorer and possibly sitting in jail while you wait for your trial for witness tampering. They will be delighted to testify at that trial.

What they did to your dog is horrible. I wish you had called the police so the solicitor could have prosecuted them for animal cruelty.

If you are renting, I think the best thing you can do is move. If you own your house, you and your children need to stay completely away from them and their property. If they do anything to you or your children, try to get a court order forbidding them from coming within X distance (for example, 100 feet) of you — it may be called a peace bond in your state. If they come closer than allowed, call the police because they voilated the court order and can be prosecuted. If they do anything to your children, or you, or your pets, or any of your property, call the police. If they drive up and down the road in front of your house screaming and blowing the car horn, call the police. Do not speak to them, do not go near them, and keep your children far away from them for their own safety. Even if you cannot get a peace bond, if they come onto your property or threaten your children or hurt anyone or any pet or do any damage, call the police. If there’s damage done but you don’t see who did it, call the police and have them come and take a report.

I hope you can move. If not, you must stay away from them and call the police every time you have a reason (but not just to harass your neighbors, which will get you in trouble with the law). Hopefully, they’ll get tired of all the police visits and leave you and yours alone. If they do something and there’s a long record of calls to the police from you about them, it should be worse for them when they have to go to court on a charge. I truly hope, if you can’t move, that they just leave you alone and you leave them alone.
