had a car accident a few months back and after CT scans, x rays and MRI’s I ended up having 2 slipped discs at L4 and L5 which were hitting my sciatic nerve which gave me such great pain starting from my lower back through my left bottom cheek and straight down my leg to my ankle. I have been going chiro sessions and even though the pain is not as bad as what it was, i still after several months get pain in my ankle and lower back. I have seeked legal advice against the driver who hit me from the rear and am dealing with a solicitor who mentioned this type of injury is substantial and considering i am only 25 years old have a whole lifetime of working, I havent had any children yet and that this will bring me trouble in the future. My chiro also said that once discs have slipped you can not fix them. For this type of injury what would be an appropriate payout figure, I have never done this before and obviously do not want to be out of pocket later on down the track for any medical sessions I need. Has anyone had anyone in a similar situation and what was the offer made my insurance. I really am not one of those people that sue for the hell of it and am not abusing the system. I have genuine injuries and why should it come out of my pocket when i was hit by the car?

hi my brother had had a car accident and damaged his car a bit and had taken it to a smash repairs place to get it fixed and the smash repairs place gave him a rental car to use wile his car was getting fixed ( he hadn’t signed any contract for the rental car) about 2 weeks had passed with him using the rental car and unfortunately he had another crash but in the rental car and totally wrote the car off, about 2 days had passed and the smashed repairs rang him and said that his car was now fixed but as soon as he told him that the rental car was smashed up he turned around and said that my brother cant have his car back and said to keep us away from the courts pay me 00 dollars but the rental car was inspected by the police and was deemed unroad worthy before the crash.

any advice about how the court case would turn out or what we should do would be greatly appreshieated.
      Thanks

I was involved in a 2 car accident whereby an uninsured, unregistered P-Plater ran into me due to carelessness. The police report states that he was in the wrong and not looking. My car has been written off. I have been left with sore chest, shoulder and back due to airbag deployment, seatbelt contusions and the force of the impact. It has been 2 weeks since the accident. Insurance only covers the cost of the car and not on-road costs. Because the car was only 2 1/2 years old and we’ve already paid for onroad costs when we brought the car, we don’t feel we should have to pay it again. We’re seeing a solicitor tomorrow to find out where we stand as far as suing the other driver for these onroad costs, and for injury damages. Has anyone gone through this and do you know if we have any chance or not of getting money from this driver to cover all of this?
