We have been asked to look after our Godson for awhile.
Now normally awhile means a week or a month at the most. Last time his parents asked us to watch him, we had him for a year.

Now his parents have gone off their heads lately, doing all kinds of crazy things. They have 4 children, who are currently staying with his parents.
His parents cannot handle our Godson, who is very demanding. We are more than prepared to take him into our hearts once again.
However he starts school, in February & we will need some sort of legal agreement to say he is in our custody?? Won’t we??
Should we contact a lawyer/barrister? Before we take him or after? Would it really matter?
Basically where do we begin??

We don’t want him to go to foster care or anywhere else. He knows us, and his Grandparents want him to stay with us. His parents did make us his life guardians, does that have any basis?? He is 4yo.
Thanks Dance. He is a great kid. He has had a tough life. We should never have let him go back to them in the first place. And with my history I will NOT let him go to foster care.
He was good for us before. HE just need love, and lots of it.
