Interested in law and today had the careers advisor from the Australian Careers Business College visit. She spoke on one course in particular that grabbed by attention – Paralegal diploma. Now this course seemed interesting as its like – and i use the term loosely – being a lawyer but basically you don’t appear in court. So how true is this perspective of mind? Ultimately I would like to be a barrister, but since I am not in a rush to run off to uni after completing the HSC this year, would this be one step in the right direction? The course is 1 year full-time and one day a week you do work experience at a workplace of your choice.
So…..
What exactly does a paralegal do?
What is the workload/ work environment like?
What is the salary for it like?
And ultimately would it provide any assistance in getting to where I want to be in regards to my future ambitions of Barrister.
This course does offer a lot of practical learning and has high job prospects through the college.
Thank u
This is in Australia by the way
