I personally think the USA should drill on its own grounds… Alaska has enough oil to last the states over 50 years with gas prices sitting at $1.25
As far as I’m concerned, we can use alcohol based fuels, and synthesized lubricants, and the Muslims can choke on their oil.
Well where do you expect to get it from? With the millions of cars operating on gasoline oil, there are not many resources where we can get it from. It just so happens that the majority of oil fields are found on Middle Eastern soil. Although we are at war with terror, and to some that means at war with Muslims, we still have to feed our cars through the pump. Yes I agree with drilling Alaska and getting oilf rom other resources but with the numbers of cars and our necessity for this product, we must continue to use foreign oil. They just like to screw with us and OPEC
Ok, lets imagine a situation where the world stops buying oil from the middle east. May be there would be a crunch, May be more exploration is needed befire we can find other pools or resources. but can we expect middle east to do without the supplies of other countries.

The Us buys 1/3 of their Oil from Mexico and listen to them whine about Mexicans on here while they use them as slave labor in sweat shops for $91 Million dollar US Government contracts!
Most of America does not hate Mexico, Mexicans, or anyone else! Just a few who have personality disorder issues do the majority of the hating and using!

The U.S. is using a different method to extract more oil from the older wells here, getting them to produce as if they were almost new sites. It’s a method in which they pump in pressurized steam, and it’s forcing the oil back up. After decades of pumping, the gas pressure is less, therefore the oil sinks back down. By using this pressured steam extraction, the pressure entering the older wells exerts the same pressure it would if there were natural gas, first. There are OTHER oil companies in America, and in case anyone hasn’t been listening, congress is letting oil companies explore for oil again. They had put a freeze on it for many, many years and would not let them drill.
Same reason people continued to buy cotton. Just because you "hate" the people who pick it, or drill it, doesn’t mean you don’t need/want it.

It is difficult to understand why middle east countries do not like
American activities but are interested to do business with U.S.A.and expect American help when they are in trouble.

We were Blessed with enough oil to supply Our country till the end of time but certain groups in this country won’t let us drill and build new refineries.
Can’t speak about down under but most of the oil coming to the USA comes from Mexico and Canada.
