i was abused as a child, what happens when i report to police and do i have to find my own solicitor?

I have an appointment with police at a special unit to do a video statement this week, i have waited 4 weeks for this to happen, in the mean time i havnt heard a thing!

    so you where abused as a child , sorry to hear this , but truth be told , not much is gonna happen . the police will take your statement , tell you it has been to long to do anything and thats gonna be about it

    Don’t worry about what happens, you have to do this. You are now old enough to understand that this person was very bad to you. Your statement could stop him/her abusing again. Go for it and don’t worry. You are protecting others, it’s a brave and honest step and I hope you find justice and some sense of closure for your suffering.

    there are statutes of limits on some crime i am not sure about this make sure your time has not run off

    Why would you wait all these years to file a complaint like that? You’ll really have a tough road ahead, to prove your case.
