I had to take my laptop into the local computer shop to check it out
and I realised that I hadn’t logged out of some of my stuff on it, eg my yahoo mail . Is it possible for them to go into that if I am using it on another computer? Do they check out everything on your computer while they are supposed to be fixing it?And is there a way I can see when I bring it home what they actually went into because I have a lot on my desktop, Pics and documents from my solicitor?

    1. When you disconnected it from the net to take it to the shop it logged you out of Yahoo mail, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Rather than check ‘everything’ they will almost certainly only check that it is, or appears to be, working OK.

Unless you’ve password-protected your document files they could see those just as easily as you can. If you are Britney Spears maybe you should worry about them looking through your photos and documents, otherwise I doubt they would be interested as they’ll work on loads of computers.

Yes, they could use your computer to log into your stuff. No, I doubt they do. And to a limited degree, yes, you could go in and see what they opened (just check your Recently Opened Documents folder on the start menu). Basically you would be able to see if they opened any of your documents. I doubt they would, but if you’re worried, you can just pull down the address bar in your browser to see what the most current website was.
