How to obtain new insurance when our previous policy was declined & cancelled?

So to cut a really long story short we made a claim to our insurance and they declined it then cancelled our policy. We’re taking it further with Solicitors and Ombudsman etc but in the mean time how do we obtain insurance with a new company when we’ve had a decline and cancellation. I know most will refuse our application until this is cleared up so does anyone know of a company who’ll accept ‘bad client’s’ like us???
Sorry it was home and contents insurance. We made a claim on a shed that kids lit onfire and they tried blaming us even though the cops cleared us – hence the reason we’re taking it further.
