my son was adopted out at birth 6yrs ago,his mother didn’t tell me her plans or tell me that she had already had the baby so my name wasn’t on the birth certificate,he is now in foster care as his adoptive parents physically abused him,I have seen a solicitor and have a final court hearing set for the 16th of this month,I have heard reports of what his adoptive parents did to him the nextdoor neighbors reported that they had seen him being dragged out of the car by his hair, punched in the back of the head, called a spec(derogotory term for hispanic),had his pants pulled down and told to go p on the tree like the dog that he is,he was constantly hungry and weighs the same as my 3yr old son,I am seeking custody of him,I have a good paying job, stable home, custody of my other 2 children and can provide for him,the problem is he doesnt know me and would be moving to a new country
what are my chances for getting custody?

    1. Once DNA testing proves you to be his bio father, I would say you have a good chance of custody.
Actually, the problems will not be with getting custody or moving, but with helping him learn to trust you not to hurt him and getting help for him to get past his abusive adoptive parents.
It will take time, patience and a lot of love from you and his siblings who will need to understand that he has not had the good life they have had.
Don’t give up-he needs you and it sounds like you need him as well! My prayers are with all of you for a wonderful life ahead.
