changing my name legally?

I want to change my name leagally, is there any way I can do it other than paying a solicitor? I live in Melbourne Victoria

I don’t know about Melbourne Victoria but in Virginia all you have to do is go to the Clerk of the Court’s office. Request a name change form, complete it and turn it in with the fee. The Judge will sign it after a criminal check has been run and if that is clean and you’re not changing your name to avoid criminal prosecution, etc. you will get a letter stating your new name and later a new birth certificate in the new name. I suggest you contact you local Clerks Office with any questions.

Try to google.. Changing my name.. You should get sites to be of assist. There is a possibility you can do this on line. Even if they require a fee, I’m pretty sure it will be alot less then hiring a lawyer. Hoping of course you 18.
