the seller accepted our offer and has put this in writing via email, do we have any rights if he decides to pull out at the last minute? We have had to lay out for solicitors, accountants ABN ect. and he is re considering (very late in the process) if he wants to sell.

Seller has accepted your offer and so you have an agreement. If he tries to get out of it now, he is breaking that agreement.

He is wrong, you are right. However, proving it and getting him to honour the agreement, might cost more time, effort and money than the deal is worth.

  2. Can he? Of course. Might there be consequences? You bet — but you’ll have to spend more money to try to impose those consequences on him. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it.
