Not even emails unless it has your full name who sent it. You must prove that he frightens you and that he has caused harm to you. You have to prove that it has ruin your mental ability to perform at work or provide for your children if you have children. If you do have children they will grant the restraining order. I have heard judges don’t just give out restraining orders just for the heck of it. It must be solid evidence. If this restraining order is against him and you filed he has his rights to prove its not true that he’s a violent man. He can bring in witnesses but they must prove their points as well. He just cannot bring in a girlfriend and have her say that he’s the nicest person to be around. It goes for you too you cannot just bring in friends unless they witness the abuse and have photos of the bruises. Thats another item you must have is photos of the abuse. Whatever was written on those emails will not be used unless you threaten his life. You can use the emails as a defense on your part by saying that he sent one to me and I was so distorted that I panic cuz of the fear of what he may had done. You can make a copy of his email and highlight the time it was sent as well as yours to see if who sent who’s first. Just be prepared with all the accusations he will provide.
